Here we will consider what is the difference between Catalans and Basques.

The Spaniards, as you know, the people are very impulsive and freedom -loving. And since the country consists of 17 autonomous regions, they periodically occur various calls to disconnect and create individual states. The most famous Spanish autonomies with expanded powers-the country of Basque and Catalonia-also adequately protect their national interests, language and traditions, but each of them is in its own way.
What are these autonomy and how do their inhabitants differ from each other? Let's try to figure it out.
Basque Country and its proud people
The main city of the Basque (which there are more than two million people) is Vitoria-Gasteis, the second largest after Bilbao. The Basque Country is a very attractive area for tourists, because here everyone can find a corner to their liking: the Cantabrian mountains and the Bay of the Bay, the hilly coast and deciduous forests.
- It is noteworthy that in addition to Spanish, they also speak Basque - absolutely unique, which does not belong to the Indo -European family.
- Locals are actively developing agriculture (mainly livestock), industry (iron ore mining, metallurgy) and tourism. And here - a real paradise for fans of fishing, since Basque has long been engaged in this fishing.
- By the way, it is very convenient to move around the country of Basque: there is a developed railway network, and also three airports (except for the largest city in Bilbao and the capital in San Sebastian).
- Another infrastructure “highlight” of autonomy is the world -famous Biscay bridge, which is also called a “flying ferry”. It is inscribed in the UNESCO World Heritage Register as a technical history monument.
- As we have already mentioned, the Basques are very honored by the traditions of the ancestors: the skill of the traditional type of chants called “Bercholarits” has been preserved here, national holidays are widely celebrated and Basque cuisine dishes are widely held.
- In the summer of 2017, a chain of folk unrest swept through the Basque Country with a demand for separation from Spain (in this they decided to support the Catalo neighbors). But only six years before, the local separatists declared the end of their struggle, but, as it turned out, the proud Basques did not forget about their national dreams.

It should be noted that the official authorities of the autonomy of such moods of ordinary citizens do not support (in any case, officially) and continue to talk about all possible risks of such a step.
Catalans and their steps on the path to independence
The capital of the Spanish Autonomous Community called Catalonia is the world famous (most likely thanks to the bright victories of the football club of the same name) Barcelona. This region is the most densely populated in Spain.
Here, also for tourists, a great opportunity is revealed to the mountains to conquer (Pyrenees), and to sunbathe on the beaches of the Mediterranean, and wander around the protected areas. More than seven and a half million people inhabit autonomy officially speak three languages \u200b\u200b- Catalan (at which students and students study in state educational institutions), Spanish and Oxitan.
- This is an economically very developed territory where textile, chemical, pharmaceutical and automotive production flourishes, a little weaker - agriculture.
- In the Catalans, a sense of beautiful is very developed, therefore, therefore, they gave the world beautiful painters (Salvador Dali, Joan Miro and Antoni Tapiesa), composers (Isaac Albenis, Enrik Granados, Frederick Mompow and Robert Gerhard), virtuoso musicians (Pau Kazals, Alisia de Larroroch ) and performers (Victoria de Los Angeles, Montserrat Kabalier, Jose Carreras), architects (Anthony Gaudi).
- Catalans are very fond of fun and dancing (a round dance called Sardan), and also - all kinds of holidays (settlements celebrate the days of their sincer patrons).
- An interesting nuance: in addition to their borders recognized by the law, the Catalans have long considered the adjacent territories of France historically - and for centuries they are desperately trying to conquer independence from the states, which included their homeland. The last vivid attempt was the 2017 referendum, during which the people spoke out clearly about their desire to proclaim the Catalan Republic (more than 90 percent of the respondents).

More recently, in early June 2018, a new government, headed by Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez, was formed in Catalonia, due to which the direct control of Madrid was canceled, which operated since the fall of 2017.
The difference between bases and catals
So, a significant difference between bases and catals is as follows:
- Despite the fact that both of them communicate in Spanish and their native language, language differences are still noticeable. In Catalans, the language is not a dialect of Spanish and belongs to the Romanesky languages. It is closer to pronunciation to French and Italian.
- The Basque language is not Romanesque, it is absolutely isolated.
- As for the kitchen, the Catalans often use Butifarra (pork with cinnamon) and noodles, but the Basques prefer beef and seafood.
- According to the traditions, which has long been laid down, the Catalans are a hardworking business people. Basques are very religious and the main part of time is engaged in spiritual development.
