The vestibule allows you to create a variety of beautiful patterns. It can be petals, flowers, as well as volumetric patterns. You can also make only contours or completely the whole drawing. To get a clear picture, first you need to describe it on the fabric and then only proceed to embroidery.

The use of the seam is carried out not only to create decorative elements, but also to finish the edges or suturing of holes. It allows you to fasten pieces of fabric well.

More seams are used by professionals because they stand out beautifully against the general background. For example, if you create an application with it, and beautiful shreds will be attached to the fabric, you can get a bright interesting pattern.

Why is the vestibule popular?

The vestibule has existed for more than two thousand years and appeared in ancient Greece. Only then did this technique come to Russia.

To make the seam more convenient to embroider, Pieces were used. The fabric on them was pulled on a drum. His membrane used to be called the "vestibule." Hence the name of the technique.

On the fabric, it turns out in the form of a pigtail, which consists of the same links. Due to the fact that such a complex drawing is obtained, it allows you to create beautiful patterns and smooth transitions.

It is also important to note that the tambourine seam can be created both with a needle and hook, but the second method is not very popular, because using the needle you can create different options by changing the position of the thread.

  • Stick the fabric with a thread so that the knot is from the inside
  • Press the thread with a thumb
  • Continue to hold the thread and enter the needle back into the puncture
  • Now your needle will be from the inside, and the thread will still be clamped
  • At the end, take the needle to the center of the loop and carefully remove the finger
  • Tighten the loop and you will succeed, something like a drop
  • Do it as many times as you need for your pattern

Do not forget that the loops should be the same and be one line. It turns out that each of them leaves the previous one. If you make loops of different sizes, then the pattern will be ugly. The loops are not worth tightening so that the fabric does not deform.
