How to mix paints correctly to obtain the desired color: Rules

It is important to say that mixing paints is not difficult, but it can be difficult to achieve a suitable shade. Sometimes paints give an unexpected reaction, which can greatly affect the final result. For example, the color will turn out to be darker than required, or it will lose tonality and will be gray.

Another interesting fact is that blue and red cannot be mixed from other colors, but they can be actively used in various combinations.

To get some colors, it is enough to use the following colors:

  • Pink. This color is obtained from lightened red. To do this, you need to dilute it with white. To make a bright color, do more red. By adding a different amount of white, you can control tonality.
  • Green. The combination of yellow, blue and blue will help to achieve a suitable color. If you want the shade to look like an olive, then take green and yellow, and it will not be superfluous to add a little brown. Light tones are obtained if instead of brown take white.
  • Orange. It turns out if you mix yellow and red. The more red is present, the brighter the shade is.
  • Purple. This color is obtained from red and blue, but only you need to use them in different quantities. Play with them, add white and you will get a big range of shades.
  • Gray. There are many options, but to obtain the main color you need to mix white and black.
  • Beige. The coloring is often used to create portraits. To get the desired shade, it is necessary to dilute the brown white until the desired color is obtained. To make it brighter, you can add a little yellow.

Not everyone knows, but the closer the colors are located on the palette, the more similar their tones are. Accordingly, when mixing, an interesting and very good result is obtained.
