The DVR is a convenient device and with it drivers often use other gadgets. Most devices for cars work through a cigarette lighter and therefore often arises the question of connecting a video recorder without it.

The DVR allows you to record everything that happens on the road and therefore everyone tries to use it, because the video will be the best proof of rightness in the accident. However, the wire is one of the significant disadvantages of the device, because it spoils not only the appearance, but can also block the review and simply interfere.

Moreover, the cigarette lighter is not always in working condition, and something can be connected there already. You can fix the situation with the help of a branch, but only then the on -board network will be very loaded. So, it remains only to look for a more convenient way to connect.

Where to install a DVR in the car?

Choosing a location of the DVR is quite simple, but at the same time you need to take into account some requirements:

The review should be saved, that is, the registrar should not interfere with him
The shooting angle must be selected the most convenient so that the whole situation is visible on the road
At the same time, access should be saved to the gadget to quickly change the settings

Hidden installation

This method assumes that the wires will be securely fixed under the panel, and then under the strut sheathing. If you decide to make a gasket in this way, then be sure to leave a little free wire so that the registrar turns.

Open installation

In this case, it is not necessary to climb under the skin, it is enough to install special brackets of plastic for fixing the wires. The brackets are attached to Velcro and are in configuration with many DVRs. This method is not very reliable, but easy to execute. Poor reliability is that Velcro will simply be peeled off.

How to connect a DVR without cigarette lighter: Instructions

If your registrar can be connected via USB connector, then you clearly will not have problems with a cigarette lighter. In other situations, you can use several unusual connection methods.

Method 1. Connection to the lighting ceiling

The presented method allows you to use the lighting lamp as a power source.

Take a cross or simple screwdriver to remove the ceiling.
Next, we solder the wires to the cable connectors or lighting contacts.
Check that everything is done reliably, otherwise problems with the work of the registrar may appear. Frequent interference, interruption of shooting, and so on - all this is the result of a poor -quality connection.
To check the voltage, you can use a universal multimeter.
It will also be useful for determining the mass in the loops and the place of connection of wires.
The next stage is important to do neatly and it would be better if you had the experience of electrical work. Your task is to disassemble the full -time plug, because it is not suitable for supplying power to the registrar.
A special nutrition module gives a proper level of security when connecting to the plafon. The main advantage of the power supply is that it has a built -in resistor for 150 Ohms. Sometimes it is required to supplement the circuit with load resistors. This is necessary in a situation where the registrar consumes less than 200 mA.
Now remove the sheathing of the windshield on the sides so that you can hide the wires and draw them to the plafon or in the torpedo.

If you want to use an open installation, then lay the cable at the junction of the rack and windshield. It is important that the wire is the same color as the salon. Fix the brackets and connect the registrar.

Take the plug and solder one leg to the plus contact, and solder the wire with the ring to the minus contact
We fix the wire with the ring on the frame of the torpedo screw

If the power is 5 volts, then the plug is not required to disassemble. The voltage in the automobile battery will decrease to the required level due to the power circuit of the plug.

Method 3. Connection to car radio

What is the danger of connecting a DVR?

In fact, all of the above actions carry certain risks, especially if they are made by an inexperienced person. Car manufacturers advise not to do anything like that, because the standard fuses and the electrical circuit are not designed for prolonged use.

If you constantly load them, then the wires will quickly “grow old”. The fuse itself does not respond to such phenomena, because it can turn off with a boundary starting current.

If you decide to connect the registrar to the battery, then be sure to make a separate button to break the circuit. With a direct connection, the device will work constantly, and therefore, even in the off state, the battery will lose the charge.

If the connection is made correctly, then the registrar will not lose its functionality and will shoot in the right quality.

DVR installation: tips, precautions

Before starting to carry out any work, it is necessary to de-energize the side network. To do this, just remove the terminal from the battery. In addition, follow the recommendations regarding installation and further operation:

Each compound should be reliably isolated.
Power is supplied through the fuse.
Before fastening the terminal on the battery, make sure you connected everything correctly.
When connecting a registrar, be careful with polarity.
See so that moisture does not penetrate into the housing, otherwise the food will be disconnected.
For the registrar, it is recommended to purchase a memory card so that you can record more information.
Always take the registrar with you if you plan to not use the car for a long time. Also, do not leave the mount, because thieves can calculate that you have something to see in the glove compartment.
If suddenly smoke or unpleasant smell appeared in the cabin, then immediately turn off the device to prevent the fire.
It is better to turn on the record as soon as you got into the car, because everything can be unexpected, no one is safe from emergency situations.
