But nothing is impossible, and today we will try to learn to accurately state - a boy in front of us or a girl.
How to distinguish quails from a female from a male?

By color
There are breeds of quails that can easily be divided into males and females already thanks to color. These include Estonian Japanese, Manchu golden and quail pharaohs. Their color is similar to the one that is found in the wild and the differences in the sexual basis are already visible by the month of the age.
Perse on the chest of boys - in yellow colors, With a redhead or close to ocher, and they are painted evenly, without interspersed of other colors. Females do not have a pronounced basic color, and spots on their breasts are commonplace. The beak of males is darker than females, but the cheeks and goiter, on the contrary, have a lighter color. If you turn the bird on the back and look, spreading the feathers, higher than the location of the cloak, you can see the very secretory gland in the male, with a slight pressure on which the secretion of the consistency of foam, which has white. The female does not have such a growth.
By the behavior of birds
As experts say, the behavior of birds of different sexes for an experienced eye is noticeable from a young age. Girls are much more active, louder and more likely squeak, restless and noisy. From about three weeks of age, girls develop and reach large sizes much more active than males, and by one and a half months their superiority in size becomes obvious.
Having become adults, the quail radically change their behavior: now the males are superior to females in activity, moreover, they are quite precious. Boys are also characterized by stretching “on a string” while females do not do this. When the time comes for marriage games, it is easy to distinguish a male by how he is trying to take the female, grabbing her head.
